He was born in Montreal in 1880 and played both rover and center. During his amateur playing days he rejected several professional contracts; he was one of few players to score 10 goals in a single game and averaged nearly three goals per game; a broken collarbone ended his career; was elected to Hall of Fame in 1945; he died in 1959.
